Vivacity Stud Lights Improve Safety in Soho Village
The City of Wyndham in Melbourne's western suburbs has installed Vivacity LED stud lights to provide night-time wayfinding in Soho Village, Point Cook. The Vivacity LED in-ground lights were installed by OmniGrip Direct. Vivacity and OmniGrip Direct are part of the SmarterLite Group.
Wyndham City Mayor Cr Adele Hegedich said: “These lights were specifically chosen with the local natural habitat in mind, as Council considered that overhead street lighting could be visually unattractive and impede on surrounding natural habitats. These stud lights are subtle and effective and a great innovation in Soho Village. These lights are cost effective, environmentally friendly and low maintenance, with the internal batteries predicted to only need to be changed in around five to ten years depending on the quality of daily solar recharges”, Cr Hegedich said.
Wyndham City’s Community Safety portfolio holder Cr Susan McIntyre said: “As Wyndham marks Community Safety Month this October, it’s great to know that we are continuing to build an overall sense of safety within the community with improvements such as this. These new stud lights will make this precinct feel safer."
